 Description

Driver : M. Brundle - W. Taylor - J. Muller

The Nissan R390 GT1 was a racing car built to compete in the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1997 and 1998. The car was developed by Nismo (Nissan Motor Sport) and TWR (Tom Walkinshaw Racing).

Powered by a 3.5 litre, biturbo, load-carrying engine rated at 600 hp, the chassis was a carbon fiber derivation of the TWR designed Jaguar XJR15. In the 1995, three cars with #21, #22 and #23 (23is NiSan in Japanese) were entered by Nissan Motor Sport with undeniably serious ambitions.

The R390 driven by Martin Brundle was the fastest of the whole lot in prequalifying and it was very fast in qualifying too. The race however turned into an a together different story and the only surviving car at the end of the 24 hrs came in 12th overall.
